World’s ‘Hairiest Girl’ Shaves It All Off After Meeting Her Soulmate, Here’s How She Looks After
Note: We are reissuing this story that first gained attention in January 2018.
Supatra ‘Natty’ Susuphan, a 17-year-old who was once famously known as ‘The World’s Hairiest Girl,’ has shared her transformation and a new love in her life. She has decided to shave her face and start a new chapter.
Originating from Bangkok, Thailand, Natty has been enchanting social media with photos alongside her cherished husband, celebrating their love. Her journey has been defined by her struggle with a rare genetic disorder called Ambras Syndrome, or Werewolf Syndrome, which leads to excessive hair growth.

In 2010, Guinness World Records acknowledged Natty as the world’s hairiest girl due to the dense hair covering her face, ears, arms, legs, and back. Despite trying laser treatments to reduce hair growth, the condition continued. Now, she regularly shaves her body to achieve her desired appearance.
Natty’s social media updates showcase her newfound joy, including a heartfelt message to her husband: “You’re not just my first love, you’re the love of my life.” It’s evident that she has found comfort and acceptance in her partner’s arms.

Ambras Syndrome, which has been documented since the Middle Ages, was historically misunderstood, leading to those affected being labeled as ‘werewolves.’ Even today, people with this condition can experience exclusion in certain communities. Nevertheless, Natty’s path has been supported by her devoted family and friends.
Although she faced teasing and unkind nicknames like ‘Wolf Girl’ and ‘Chewbacca’ during her school years, her loved ones remained by her side. Natty’s outlook on her condition is both empowering and uplifting. She expressed to Guinness World Records: “I don’t feel any different from anyone else, and I’ve got lots of friends at school… Being hairy makes me special.”

She also shared that in the past, some individuals would tease her by calling her ‘monkey face,’ but that has changed over the years. She has become used to her condition, stating, “I can’t feel the hair since it has always been this way. I don’t feel anything. Sometimes, it does make it hard to see when it gets long. I hope to be cured one day.”

Natty’s transformation from being known as ‘The World’s Hairiest Girl’ to embracing love and making decisions about her appearance highlights the strength of self-acceptance and the significance of having a supportive community. Her journey is a powerful reminder of resilience and the ability to redefine beauty on one’s own terms.
