Willie Nelson, 91, continues to cancel tour dates citing unknown illness

Willie Nelson has decided to cancel yet another tour appearance, with no future date scheduled for a return.

Prior to his scheduled appearance on stage in Virginia Beach on Wednesday, a message was posted on Nelson’s social media accounts announcing that the 91-year-old singer would not be able to perform as planned.

A few days after canceling his tour opener in Georgia due to not feeling well, Nelson made the announcement.

On June 21, the initial wave of unfortunate news arrived when Nelson had to cancel his first performance of the Outlaw Music Festival Tour.

Unfortunately, we have to inform you that Willie Nelson is currently unwell and, as per his doctor’s recommendation, he will be taking a four-day rest,” a statement released on social media revealed. “We anticipate a speedy recovery and look forward to his return to the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week.”

Nevertheless, within a week, Nelson declared another cancellation.

Unfortunately, Willie Nelson will not be appearing at tonight’s event in Virginia Beach. We anticipate that Willie will rejoin the tour in the near future.

Despite Nelson’s absence, Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, and Celisse were still slated to take the stage. Lukas Nelson, Nelson’s son, and his band were also anticipated to perform their own set, as well as some of Nelson’s timeless hits.

Nelson’s website currently displays his upcoming tour date in Syracuse, NY on June 28, with an uncertain return date, leaving doubts about his ability to perform.

We wish Willie Nelson a speedy recovery and hope he will be back on stage soon.
