Valerie Bertinelli Reveals New Boyfriend, Two Years After Divorce Heartbreak

Valerie Bertinelli, who had previously made it clear that she was not available, announced that she has a new boyfriend she met on Instagram, after going through heartbreak from her previous relationships.
Last Friday, the 63-year-old confirmed the news on Instagram by sharing a selfie with lyrics from Taylor Swift’s song So High School, believed to be about her current boyfriend Travis Kelce. This post came two years after her divorce from Tom Vitale and four years after the death of her first husband, Eddie Van Halen.
Bertinelli wrote in the caption of the photo, “I will consume your thoughts and I am feeling great from laughing at your jokes all night long.”
Entertainment Tonight reported that Valerie has a new partner, writer Mike Goodnough, also known as the Hoarse Whisperer.
Bertinelli, an actress and TV personality, caused a stir recently by sharing with USA TODAY that she has met someone and is very grateful for him.
This connection with him is unlike any I’ve experienced with a man. Meeting him has been a stroke of luck, and I want to keep some things to myself. I imagined myself passing away contentedly, with my six cats and dog by my side.

Goodnough confirmed in his Substack essay “Rumors, Rumors, Rumors…” this week that the rumors about him dating Bertinelli were indeed true. He amusingly shared in the piece that he had asked “Ms. Bertinelli” in a “reporterly voice” if there was “any truth to the idea you are dating me? Would you like to comment?”.
“Indeed,” she commented, he added. “Yes, that’s correct. You are my life partner.”
Bertinelli recently discussed her previous marriage to Eddie Van Halen in her latest cookbook, Indulge.
She mentioned in the cookbook, released on April 12, that despite their divorce, Ed and her love for each other never wavered.
Bertinelli included, “Perhaps without cancer, we could have experienced a resurgence,” but emphasized that her comment was “wishful thinking.”

Valerie explained that she began following Goodnough on social media in either 2016 or 2017, and he returned the favor in 2018. It is likely that they began messaging each other after Valerie and Tom Vitale’s divorce in 2022.
She characterized Goodnough as “an extremely amusing and exceptionally skilled writer.”
The actress announced to PEOPLE Magazine this month, “I have found love.” I promised myself I would never fall in love again, so now I’m experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions.
We’re glad to see Valerie content, though!
