In circumstances where you feel mistreated by someone, the desire for revenge may arise. This reaction is a natural human instinct; however, it may not always be the most advisable course of action.
While the notion of revenge may seem appealing, it carries significant risks, particularly if it leads to unintended consequences or legal troubles. Therefore, it is often wiser to enjoy tales of revenge from those who have successfully navigated such situations without repercussions.
The revenge narratives presented below are among the most intriguing we could discover. Individuals candidly share their experiences, allowing you to experience their stories vicariously.
1. Park Illegally? I’ll Get You Towed
“Yesterday I went to Walmart to return faulty ink cartridges (and also cause it came with two black inks not black, red, yellow, blue) anyway….
I observed an individual irresponsibly choose to park his oversized truck in a manner that obstructed two handicapped spaces, despite lacking a blue placard. Additionally, another vehicle was stationed in a no-parking zone, specifically in the area marked with cross lines.
I have a disability, but I usually don’t park in the handicapped spots. Unless I’m having a really bad MS flare, I can walk just fine, so I don’t see the point in parking close. This is probably the third time this week that I’ve been in that area.
Sooooo feeling petty – and also annoyed because what if a handicapped person needed it? – I decided to call the non-emergency police line to report the violation and give both plate numbers.
The police showed up really fast. I explained what I witnessed, and they verified that the truck didn’t have a handicap placard. After that, they let me continue on my way.
An hour later I’m walking out with a bag of needed groceries and a receipt for my refund (customer service had a long line) and I see TWO tow trucks getting the illegally parked vehicles.
It’s at this moment the owners happen to come out.
I could hear them shouting from where I was standing. They were both trying to make their case. One of the cops told a woman, “Ma’am, this isn’t a parking area, and there are lots of open spots down the street.” She replied, “But it’s too far! I was only gone for five minutes!” The guy in the truck chimed in, claiming he was also gone for just five minutes, but the other officer responded, “That’s interesting because we received a report about this an hour ago!”
Oh and sir’ as she gesture to the irate truck owner ‘do you have a handicap permit? I will let you off with a warning.’ Guy grumbles ‘no I don’t have a permit. Do I look like a cripple?’ She looks like she sighs and writes a ticket and hands it to him.
He blushed and shouted, “$2000? Are you serious?” She replied calmly, “You need to talk to traffic court about that, not me.” The other woman was hit with a $500 fine for parking illegally, and both cars were towed, leaving their owners frustrated and calling for help.
I walk to my car snickering to myself and drive home.
Moral of the story: don’t park illegally. Especially in handicap zones.”
2. She Didn’t Make An Effort To Hold In Her Anger
“This happened to me when I was 19 years old. I got a job as the director of a youth soccer league.
The position lasted just two months, but I thought I had some pretty cool benefits. My ‘office’ was located in the basement of city hall, which was basically a repurposed storage room without a door. I also had my own ‘secretary,’ a woman named Gloria who was in her early 30s.
She was given the job of assisting me with typing, copying, organizing, and whatever else I needed help with. On top of that, she had a full-time job with the city. Throughout those two months, I ended up treating her more like a servant than a secretary.
Several times, I could tell that she was angry with me for ordering her around.
However, she stayed silent. I mean, I was technically her ‘boss.’ When my last day arrived, Gloria’s time working for me would wrap up at noon. Just a few minutes before that, she walked into my office with a brown paper grocery bag in her hands. She placed the bag on my desk.
She expressed her gratitude for finishing our time together. Gloria glanced at her watch and started counting down the last few seconds. Once she hit zero, she dug into her bag and pulled out a big chocolate mousse cream pie. For a brief moment, she hovered over me, pie in hand.
Then, Gloria smashed the cream pie right in my face!!
As I sat slumped in my chair with the pie buried in my face, Gloria let out all of her pent-up anger and frustration. She told me exactly what she thought of me and didn’t hold back anything.
After she finished scolding me, she left the room. That day taught me an important lesson about how to treat my coworkers. I did say sorry to her for my behavior. She accepted my apology, but she didn’t regret her actions towards me.
In fact, she thoroughly enjoyed smashing a cream pie in my face!”
3. We Just Want A Peaceful Flight
My two daughters and I were the last ones to board a Southwest flight from Dallas to Salt Lake City, which had a quick stop in Albuquerque. Since Southwest Airlines doesn’t assign seats, the plane has just one middle aisle with three seats on each side. Since we were the last to get on, the only seats available were single middle seats, and they were all spread out across the plane.
My 18-year-old daughter grabbed the first seat she saw, while my 7-year-old and I made our way to the back, trying to find seats together. Unfortunately, there were no spots left. I had to put her in a middle seat all alone, and she began to tear up. She was scared to be sitting by herself between two serious-looking business guys.
I was sitting six rows back in another middle seat. Seeing how upset she was, I asked the people next to her and the ones next to me if anyone would be willing to swap seats so she could sit with me. This meant someone would have to give up a window or aisle seat for a middle seat.
Everyone said NO. I sent a message about what happened to my older daughter and switched off my phone for the flight. It was the most peaceful flight I’ve ever had. The guys sitting next to me realized they had acted like idiots. There was no talking at all, just a lot of awkwardness.
In Albuquerque, the guy sitting by the window in my row got up and left, so my little daughter came over to sit with me. There was also an empty seat across the aisle. My older daughter began walking down the aisle, and all the guys turned to look at her. She’s really stunning.
She took a seat in the chair right across the aisle from us. The first guy who had said no to moving was now sitting right in between us. This dude looked to be in his mid-20s. I could tell he was noticing the girl across the aisle and was gearing up to start a chat with her.
After that, I talked to her and figured out that she was connected to the little girl and her mom, the ones he had turned down when they asked to switch seats. There was no way he could fix this mess now.
Here was a beautiful girl whom he wanted to hit on… and she already knew him as a heartless jerk.”
