Recently, Keanu Reeves has been hard at work on his new project, Good Fortune. He made an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert earlier this week and shared a story that left some people worried.
The 59-year-old actor talked about how he ended up breaking his kneecap while on set. Known for his thrilling roles in films like The Matrix and the John Wick series, Reeves explained that it was caused by something surprisingly minor.
Colbert asked Reeves, “What happened? Who got to you?”

The actor replied playfully in a tough guy voice, “No one got to me,” adding, “Accident got to me.”
“Were you jumping from building to building? Were you doing a cartwheel past razor blades? What were you doing?” Stephen further probed.
“No, Stephen, I was walking into the dressing room, a room. I will tell it quick,” Keanu explained.

Keanu revealed that the incident occurred while he was on set for a new comedy called Good Fortune, alongside Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogen. The three of them were taking a cold plunge, and Keanu was really enjoying it. After they wrapped up, he started doing a little dance called the “cold shuffle” in a room with soft carpets. Unfortunately, his foot got stuck in a pocket while he was moving around.
To show what happened, Keanu got up and walked in front of Stephen’s desk, demonstrating how his knee buckled. “And I spiked. Like, spiked,” he said, acting out the moment. “Just drove it into the ground.”
“My patella, kneecap, cracked like a potato chip. But I didn’t realize it at the time. Then my knee started swelling up,” Keanu continued.

“Comedy is hard, man,” Keanu added as a joke.
“This was not an action film with Aziz and Rogen,” Stephen clarified once again.
“No, it was comedy,” Keanu confirmed.
“Welcome to my life,” Stephen joked.

Keanu was seen filming in January this year while using crutches and had an ice pack on his knee.
Good Fortune features Aziz Ansari not just as a star but also marks his first time directing. He wrote and co-produced the film, which includes performances from Sandra Oh and Keke Palmer.
It’s great to hear that Keanu Reeves is doing well now. Feel free to share this with anyone who might be curious about how the actor is these days!
