A woman with 800 tattoos reveals a new picture of herself without any ink – the difference is quite striking.
Melissa Sloan, known as Britain’s “most tattooed mother,” recently shared a photo of herself without her iconic tattoos, leaving many people amazed by the dramatic change.
Having begun her tattoo journey around ten years ago, Sloan has accumulated more than 800 tattoos.
As a mother of seven, she mentioned that she has been getting three tattoos each week for the past decade. Interestingly, she admitted that she can’t recall her appearance before the ink adorned her face and body.
To showcase her bare skin, Sloan used just £3 worth of foundation makeup to cover her tattoos.
It’s clear that those who hadn’t seen her before she got the tattoos, including her two young sons, were taken aback by the transformation. However, their surprise didn’t translate into approval of her “new” appearance.
In an interview with the Daily Star, Sloan shared, “That day, nobody spoke to me; the kids completely ignored me. It was not well received.
“They told me, ‘Go back to your old self, Mom,’ and none of them wanted to engage. It felt like they were looking at a stranger.
“When it was removed again, everything went back to normal – it really should have been the other way around,” she reflected.
Sloan’s five older children aren’t thrilled about their mom’s tattoos, and as a result, she doesn’t keep in touch with them.
Many people who have viewed her before and after pictures commented that she appeared lovely without the tattoos.
Nonetheless, Sloan considers this a small experiment and feels at ease with her body art. She has no regrets, even though some trolls have labeled her a ‘smurf’ or a ‘freak.’
Her tattoos symbolize freedom, creativity, and resilience in the face of judgment.
Sloan understands that her look might not appeal to everyone, but that doesn’t bother her. She believes in being true to herself, and her tattoos serve as a lesson to her children about celebrating their individuality, as beauty exists in various forms.
