20-year-old mother dies in her sleep next to infant daughter – when doctors realize what happened, they’re shocked

A young mother from Hull, UK, had already brought her infant daughter’s Christmas present. 20-year-old Caitlin Faulder had given birth to her daughter Poppy 5 months ago.

Faulder resided with her daughter in her parents’ house. This December, she was set to commemorate her daughter’s first Christmas. Tragically, however, she was discovered deceased in her bed on November 19.

Charlotte Faulder, her sister, shared that the family is really sad about the loss. It feels unfair that her sister had to leave us so early. While Caitlin was pregnant, she had an EKG that showed some issues with her heart, but doctors said it wasn’t anything to be concerned about.

Her sister disclosed that an echocardiogram was scheduled for Poppy when she was six weeks old; however, no appointment was ever communicated to her. Upon finally visiting the doctor, she was informed that all was normal and her blood pressure was satisfactory. On Saturday night, Caitlin appeared to be in perfect health, enjoying herself and dancing joyfully with her daughter, as recalled by her sister Charlotte.

The young mother eagerly anticipated the holiday season, particularly the task of adorning the Christmas tree, among various other preparations. It was her father who discovered her lifeless body in her bed. Hearing the cries of little Poppy, he pondered why Caitlin had not attended to her. Assuming she might still be asleep, he proceeded to her room to look into the matter.

He went in and said, “Caitlin, Poppy is crying, wake up,” but it seemed that she did not stir from her slumber. He then looked closer and realized his beloved daughter was dead.

He immediately called emergency services, who performed CPR, but unfortunately, it was too late.
